The blue room is our largest room and has a queen bed and a private bath with a stall shower. Tired of being stuffed in a too small B&B bedroom, the blue room gives you plenty of room to stretch out in. In winter you'll find cozy flannel sheets under a down comforter from East Berlin when the wall was still up. Decorated in a New Hampshire Provincial theme, you'll find snippets of our former lives -- it's Jack's favorite room. We have medals and souvenirs from our hikes and volksmarches across Europe, pictures of us having champagne "after the hunt" at Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, Germany and , of course, Jack's favorite horse, Grisu, from the Reithalle am Kraherwald -- Grisu was a feisty little guy and tried to throw Jack for five years, but never did. There's a the riding crop Jack found while dining with the Hungarian military in an out of the way restaurant near the border with Slovakia. Take a closer look at the framed monopoly board on the wall -- it took Jack over a year to cross-stitch. This room has air conditioning.

The green room is a cozy two room suite with a queen bed and a window seat in the larger room, a twin day bed in the smaller room and a private bath with a shower/tub. The green room is a very pleasant suite and is just right if you're the couple that needs that extra room and closet for her to spread out all those clothes she brought. Perfect for two singles travelling together, a couple and a friend or a couple with a teenager -- separate beds and rooms but a shared bath. Decorated in a garden motif with stained glass works and Eva's cross stitches of orchids and lady slippers -- when the season's just right you'll find real lady slippers in the woods just out of our door. The throw carpets are handmade and came from a shopping trip Eva made to Turkey. You'll agree this is a most pleasing suite of rooms. This room has air conditioning.

The bunk rooms are in the former horse stable. One has a king bed and the other two have queen beds. All share a semi-private bath with a stall shower in the tack room. The bunk rooms go for $35 for single and $55 for double occupancy -- both rates include breakfast. We originally set these rooms up for friends and family that like to drop in during the top of tourist season, but we got enough requests for them that we opened them to the public. We've stayed in a lot of youth hostels and ski lodges in our travels and these are even better! We haven't had horses in the horse stable since 1994 -- it's very clean -- you smell the knotty pine panelling. We had a group from Hong Kong call them "the novelty of their trip to America". The stalls' common area has air conditioning and a new gas fireplace, but each stall is not individually heated.
